slipcash — tap-to-pay nfc ecosystem
End-to-end NFC tap-to-pay payment ecosystem: hardware, mobile app, vendor tools, and an AI support assistant.
the brief
SlipCash's idea was simple to describe and brutally hard to execute: anyone wearing one of their NFC bracelets — or operating one of their NFC pads — could accept a tap-to-pay transaction anywhere, instantly, with no terminal. To make that real, the platform needed payment infrastructure that satisfied PCI requirements, NFC hardware that worked across iOS and Android phones, a vendor admin system, and customer support good enough to scale without a giant team.
the work
Mobile payment app. Native iOS and Android apps for both consumers (paying) and merchants (receiving). Wallet management, transaction history, dispute flows, instant transfers.
Stripe Tap to Pay integration. Production payment routing with PCI-compliant infrastructure. Tokenized card storage, 3DS support, automatic retry, and real-time settlement reporting.
NFC bracelet & pad support. Hardware-aware app behavior — when an NFC bracelet is tapped, the receiving phone surfaces a payment confirmation in under a second.
Admin panel & vendor tools. Web-based merchant onboarding, transaction analytics, payout management, refund flows, and tiered roles for multi-location vendors.
AI-powered support assistant. A semantic-memory + RAG-backed support agent trained on the SlipCash docs and policies. Handles tier-1 questions autonomously and escalates the rest with full context — measurably reducing support load.
the result
SlipCash launched a working tap-to-pay ecosystem from zero, with the AI assistant absorbing a meaningful share of inbound support and the merchant tools enabling self-serve onboarding without a sales team.
